Arctic Blast 2008 Part 2

We had more fun in the snow yesterday.  It just keeps on snowing.  My mom is wondering when the snow will stop.  She's hibernating in the kitchen, baking fresh bread and treats galore.

Arctic Blast 2008 aka Snow in Portland

We had an awesome snow day today.  Cooper's had this snowsuit since last Christmas and was finally able to wear it today.  We actually need to get him a bigger size now but it worked for an hour.  He loved the snow and being outside with both mommys.  We played with our neighbors for a little while and when our neighbor 10 year old asked if he'd eaten the snow yet (which he hadn't) he decided to try it.  That was the end of that, we found him sneaking snow off our boots once we came inside.  Stinker.

Tree farm

We went to the Sleighbells tree farm, gift shop and restaurant in Sherwood today with Don, Lindsay and Susan.  We cut down our tree and then had lunch at the restaurant. It was great f

Thanksgiving Photos

Here are some recent pictures of Cooper.  He is super fast now and rarely stands still for a photo.  He is a runner, still loves trucks, planes, dogs, and cars.

Yosemite and Fresno Trip

Our first day in Fresno we took a trip to Yosemite National Park.  Sharon has wanted to take me up there for 4 years now but the weather has always stopped us.  The trip was awesome, we saw El Capitan, Half Dome and visited the famous Awahawnee Hotel.

Cooper's Pumpkin

Here is Cooper's pumpkin masterpiece.  He drew the face with marker and Uncle Susan carved it for him.  She did a terrific job.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch in Sauvie Island with Aunt Holly.  We had a great time.  Cooper loved throwing dirt clods with mama and running around the pumpkins.  He also saw several trucks and tractors.

Playing with Uncle Susan

Cooper was put in the blue recycling bin at Uncle Susan's house.  He played peek-a-boo with her and then we wheeled him around.

Out and About

Cooper and I walked to the library this morning.  We stopped at a school to walk around before heading to the apple tasting event at Portland Nursery.

Words and first haircut

Cooper is increasing his vocabulary everyday.  He continues to say "go gos" for dogs and Yukon.  He says "rye rye" for Riley (his other dog), he says "goker" for his friend Parker, "caker" for cracker, "bu bye", "ditty" for kitty, "ba" for ball, "bo" for book, "ba ba" or "brr brr" for truck, "bu" for bus.

Cooper is obsessed with trucks, buses, equipment, trains, planes, basically anything that is loud and moves.  After babysitting we often drive home on Columbia Blvd so he can see all the equipment at rental places and semi trucks cruising around.  He loves it.

Cooper had his first haircut on Saturday.  Our neighbor is a hairdresser and she offered to cut his hair for us.  It was awesome because she and her kids came to our house.  Cooper sat on my lap and was pretty good.  Here is some video of the event: before the cut, middle and end.

Cooper chasing the geese at Westmoreland

Cooper and Parker

I started babysitting for a 15-month old, Parker, last week.  It's two hours a day, 3-4 days a week.  The boys have a blast together, giving hugs, kisses and sharing toys. Parker is quite a talker and loves to tell Cooper "no-no".  They are similar in size, it's so cute to watch them mimic each other.

Cooper and the Fountain

We had a playdate at the Beaverton Library park last week.  The weather was beautiful and there was a fountain there.  Cooper loves water and had a blast in the fountain.  All the kids had fun (although the scary ventriloquist guy scared the babies).
