Fresno Trip

Here are some pictures of our trip to Fresno to visit Sharon's family.  It was a fast trip, oh and Cooper was AMAZING on the plane.  Not a peep.

Solids

Cooper had his first taste of rice cereal this week in Fresno.  His real aunt Sonya held him while Sharon finger fed him.  He loved it - this child is going to have no problem with eating.  Here are some pictures of the moment.

4 Months and First Flight

Cooper is four months old!  He had his doctor's appointment yesterday and he weighs 14 pound 5 ounces.  My guess of 18 pounds was way off.  The doctor said his weight is ideal.  His height is 2'1".  The doctor said we can start Cooper on solid foods if he seems interested.  That means we can start him on rice cereal with breast milk and then try bananas, sweet potatoes or other first foods.  How exciting.  I bought the Super Baby Food book by Ruth Yaron to teach me how to make baby foods at home for Cooper instead of buying the jars of baby food.

I'm excited to start this next phase in Cooper's life.  I can't believe he is ready for solids.  I'm glad that breast milk will still be his primary source of food though, I don't want to give up that bonding time - definitely not ready for that yet.

Today we are leaving for Fresno to visit the Shwetzer family.  Cooper's first flight.  We will be gone until Monday and Cooper will get to meet his Grandpa Shwetzer and Grandma Barbara, his Uncle Kris, Cousin Chloe and Noah, Uncle Arman and Aunt Rosey is going to drive up from L.A. to see him.

I've been packing for two days now.  It is hard to pack for a baby.

Here's one more picture of sleepy four month old Coopster.

Nap Time

Cooper is starting to nap during the day.  I know his sleepy signs: rubbing his eyes and very red eyelids.  I started putting him in his crib awake or not and shutting the door, within a couple of minutes he is off to dreamland!  It's awesome.

Also, we started putting Cooper in his pack-n-play at night for his first chunk of sleep before he wakes to eat.  Then we bring him back in the bed with us for the rest of the night.  We've done it for two nights now, he's not phased, we're the ones having a hard time with it.  It is nice to have our bed back.

Here's a picture of a very tired boy after an outing to Trader Joe's.

Poop at the Neighbors

Cooper and I went to visit our neighbor Kristen and her son Jake this afternoon, it was going to be a short visit because they were having company when her oldest, Kiley came home from school.  We sat down for some nice tea and cookies.  Not even 30 minutes into our visit Cooper (while sitting in the kangaroo pouch) pooped big time, it was very loud and juicy.  He wasn't done with that one and continued to poop some more.  Next thing I know I can feel wetness on my arm that is by his butt.  I'm thinking no way, he didn't explode did he? Being the stellar mom that I am, I of course didn't bring my diaper bag so I had nothing with me.  Kristen had an old diaper of Jake's there, a size 4 and I decide to use it.  I took Cooper out of the pouch and see poop on his sock, that was my sign that this was a poop explosion.  He had poop down his entire left leg, in his pants, on his onesie, everywhere.  He then became naked boy because I didn't have any clothes with me.  Kristen loved it because she had her baby fix and a naked baby which is her favorite!  I watched her kids and old preschool teacher make Easter eggs.  Yes in November, apparently that is the only way Kiley will eat hard-boiled eggs.   I visited for another hour or so before we went home with Cooper wrapped in one of their old blankets and two Easter eggs to share with Sharon.  Fun times with poop and Coop.

I almost forgot the best part of this afternoon for me.  That was when Kristen asked Jake (he's almost 5) if he wanted to see me clean up Cooper's poopy diaper.  He declined, fortunately for me, but she asked him about 2 times.  I thought that was the funniest thing.

Cooper Giggles

Cooper started baby giggles yesterday.  Here's a quick clip of him in action.  It's so cute.

Also, he did it again, slept that is.  He slept 8 hours last night from 6pm to 2am.  I on the other hand did not have a restful night sleep, I kept waking up to check on him.  Then at 2am, I thought he may be awake for good but nope, he slept until 6:30am.  GO COOPER!

Mega Sleeper

I had a Cooper record sleeping night last night.  He slept 9 hours, yep, 9!!  I couldn't believe it, I actually woke up once during the night to check on him.  The past few days he hasn't been taking long naps, he takes small cat naps for 20 minutes or so.  We had a busy walking day yesterday and he was awake and alert in his jogger most of the time.
I guess that means he's going to be wide awake today.

Jogger

We decided to buy a jogger this weekend.  After researching them we looked to Craig's list for a used one.  We found a Kelty Joyrider and we bought it this morning.  Cooper loves it, he feels like a big boy (or so we think).  He loves looking around.  It rides great and we walk super fast with it.
