Cooper is four months old! He had his doctor's appointment yesterday and he weighs 14 pound 5 ounces. My guess of 18 pounds was way off. The doctor said his weight is ideal. His height is 2'1". The doctor said we can start Cooper on solid foods if he seems interested. That means we can start him on rice cereal with breast milk and then try bananas, sweet potatoes or other first foods. How exciting. I bought the Super Baby Food book by Ruth Yaron to teach me how to make baby foods at home for Cooper instead of buying the jars of baby food.
I'm excited to start this next phase in Cooper's life. I can't believe he is ready for solids. I'm glad that breast milk will still be his primary source of food though, I don't want to give up that bonding time - definitely not ready for that yet.
Today we are leaving for Fresno to visit the Shwetzer family. Cooper's first flight. We will be gone until Monday and Cooper will get to meet his Grandpa Shwetzer and Grandma Barbara, his Uncle Kris, Cousin Chloe and Noah, Uncle Arman and Aunt Rosey is going to drive up from L.A. to see him.
I've been packing for two days now. It is hard to pack for a baby.
Here's one more picture of sleepy four month old Coopster.
