Ashland Trip
We went to the Medford/Ashland area for 7 days with Cooper and the dogs. Sharon worked at her branch in Medford while I relaxed with Cooper at the campsite. We stayed in Ashland at an RV park, http://www.glenyanrvpark.com/ We had a great time and went to Crater Lake on Sunday. Neither one of us has ever been there and it was beautiful. Very very cold as you can tell by the pictures. It is the deepest lake in the United States at 1932 feet deep. It collects water from rain and snow only. If you haven't seen it, you need to check it out when you visit.

Milestone
Cooper had his 2 month appointment today. The milestone is he gained 1 pound in two weeks. He is now almost 13 pounds at 12 pounds 13 ounces and he measures 25 inches. I couldn't believe it, what a super eater. Another thing I learned is that at two months old he doesn't poop as often. He's been going once every few days lately and I was worried that wasn't often enough. Come to find out that it is very normal and I only need to be concerned if he goes a week without a movement. No more worries about that. He also received his vaccines which he did not appreciate. It was hard to listen to him scream, poor guy. (Sharon was crying along with Cooper).
We are going on our second camping trip this weekend. We are heading to Medford/Ashland area for five days. Sharon has to work in Medford a couple of days and I will be hanging out with the dogs and Cooper on the creek in the trailer. It's going to be great to spend some time in Ashland.

Greatest Smile and Funny Faces
Cooper has the best smile. Here's a picture of him in the play gym smiling and having fun.
This is a picture from my work farewell. Cooper was great, many of my coworkers held him; he slept, ate, and played a bit while we were there. I continue to dress Cooper and I similarly without thinking about it. At the work farewell we were both in stripes as this pictures shows. The other day Sharon, Cooper and I were all wearing brown. It's not even on purpose.Wednesday, September 12, 2007
2 Months
Cooper is now two months old, no longer a newborn. He is changing everyday and growing like crazy. We measured him last night and according to our measurements is now 25 inches. The doctor weighed him last week and he's 11 pounds 12 ounces. He loves going places with mom like the store, walks, breakfast dates and visits with Elliott.
Here are some 8 week pictures of Cooper while he was getting a bath. He loves bath time, he chills in the warm water.

Cooper's favorite sleeping spot
Cooper loves the sling, he gets the best sleep in there and allows me some time with two hands to do fun things like laundry.

Cute Outfit
Cooper's in 3 month clothes now, he does fit into some of his newborn clothes but most are pretty tight. This one is super cute, Sharon and I bought it from the Carter outlet in Woodburn! We're going back there this week to get more cute cheap clothes.

First Camping Trip
We went camping this weekend, 8/23-8/26/07 with grandma and grandpa. We went to Ocean Shores/Pacific Beach in Washington. Sharon and I have never been there before, the grandparents have property up there. It was awesome. The weather was great, sunny most days. Beautiful beach, you can drive on the beach in Washington and that was fun. The dogs had a blast and Cooper was a great traveler. We did however have the WORST clam chowder in the world in Ocean Shores at a place called Mike's Seafood. They put so much corn starch in it that it was gloppy and disgusting!

One Month Old
Cooper is one month old, well 5 weeks now. I can't believe it. He is still the best baby, he endured an IKEA shopping experience yesterday and was a super star. We bought him some cute things for his bedroom and grandma and grandpa bought him a snake hamper. Here are some one month old pictures.
Riley has taken to being the watchful eye for Cooper. I was in the bathroom while Cooper was hanging out on the bed and Riley decided that it was her job to keep watch over Cooper.

A day in the life of nurturing Cooper
Our visitors left today, Sharon's sister and niece were here since Thursday. We have a break now until August 20th when Sharon's mom and husband come up to visit for a week or so. It will be nice to have some alone time. just the three of us but the extra hands will be missed. Mostly I sit in a chair and feed Cooper all day. I'm still recovering from surgery so I'm not supposed to lift more than 10 pounds (I guess besides my baby who was 10 at birth). I can't wear in a sling right now because it hurts my stitches. However, we did go to the outlet mall in Woodburn this weekend and he did really well. We brought the stroller but he ended up nursing and then sleeping in the sling and we had Sharon wear it. It was perfect, he slept a long time in that. Yesterday we tried to have a small outing and he was having none of it so we all came home.
Cooper is a cluster feeder, he likes to eat for a few hours off and on before settling into a 2 hour nap. He also likes to nap while eating. At night, he sleeps for about 3-4 hours, wakes up at 3-3:30a.m. every morning to eat and will then sleep until 6:30 or 7am. Some mornings he'll sleep again after eating at 7am, other mornings he's up for a few hours.
I read a lot during the day and nap when he naps sometimes. He's really a good baby, not fussy or temperamental at all.

Dreaming Again
I've been having labor dreams again. I don't remember much when I wake up but I know that they are about labor. Sharon always gets in trouble in them too-those are the parts I remember. The one I had Saturday night, Sharon wouldn't answer any of her phones. I knew from a friend that she was with one of our other friends and she was purposefully not answering her phones. I guess that's my anxiety coming out. I think that dream wiped me out because I had no energy yesterday.
I can't wait to see this little guy, hopefully this is the week - WEEK 40!!!

My last day
Today is my last day of work until October. I am excited to relax, rest and veg the next few days before my parents arrive on the 16th. Sharon's excited for lattes every morning! I will probably do more nesting at home until Cooper gets here, at least I'll be in the comfort of my home.
The update on Cooper, I don't have one. I'm getting contractions everyday, nothing significant or regular. Many people say he looks like he dropped, I can't tell. I am waddling more so maybe that's a good sign.

Weekend of Projects
This weekend was full of nesting projects. Sharon was up at the crack of dawn Saturday and Sunday working on multiple projects. I slept in both days and it felt so wonderful. We are in a painting mode right now, trying to get things painted before Cooper is here. Sharon stripped, sanded and primed the front door and will paint it this week. She also primed one of the exterior windows to paint this week. She put up a privacy screen in our backyard for our neighbor and our piece of mind. With our new deck we can really see directly into our neighbor's study and we don't like it and I'm sure she doesnt' either. Sharon put up two posts and a lattice that we can grow clematis or something on to block her view. We painted it green to go with the evergreens back there. Sharon also painted the bathroom and new blue color, it's really nice and we're going to do all white trim which will look great!
As for my projects, I finished washing all of Cooper's clothes and put them away. I don't think I've ever done that much laundry in one weekend. I then decided that he really does need a closet. That added another project to Sharon's list, make the bedroom armiore a closet for my clothes, that's on her list for this week too. I put all our contacts in an address book and made granola bars.
